Mind & Body
Mind & Body refers to methods of movement that require mental intention and focus. PEAK Members and Guests will benefit from the practices of Pilates, Yoga and CoreAlign. These forms of fitness emphasize fluid whole body movements that are appropriate for all, from those recovering from injury to high performance athletes.
The PEAK has expanded its Mind & Body Program by offering the newly released CoreAlign System. CoreAlign is designed to improve posture, balance and functional movement patterns.
Clients of all ages and fitness levels experience a variety of benefits, including musculoskeletal rehabilitation, athletic performance enhancement, and an overall healthier lifestyle.
CoreAlign exercises utilize the entire body while in a standing position and with independent limb training. This unique approach stimulates the deep core and stabilizing muscles to fire in perfect timing and harmony. Performing these exercises that emphasize core control, speed, balance, and conscious muscular recruitment make your workout a perfect combination of mind and body, strength, and aerobic training. CoreAlign is a totally unique movement experience.
Pilates is an innovative system of mind and body exercises evolved from the principles of Joseph H. Pilates. This method of exercise transforms the way your body looks, feels, and performs by originating strength from the inner core and extending outward into full body recruitment. It teaches body awareness, good posture, and easy movement, while improving flexibility, strength, and economy of motion. Pilates exercises can be performed with on a mat or with the use of apparatus. Exercises will have the best result when they are tailored to individual needs while working with a highly qualified instructor. Pilates is appropriate for all ages and levels of fitness. A regular Pilates practice will rebalance musculature, prevent injury, and facilitate optimal athletic performance.
Yoga is an ancient series of systems developed to help heal and maintain the body and mind. Deep mental focus (mediation), breathwork (pranayama) and physical postures (asana), allows us to identify strengths and weaknesses and bring them into fine balance. Yoga offers a multitude of benefits to every level of practitioner. Beginners find safe and fulfilling ways to build strength, flexibility, and confidence. Athletes enhance their performance through exercises that balance the body and heal and prevent injuries. A yoga practice will improve posture and focus, reduce stress, restore joint fluidity, build strength, and create an overall sense of well-being. The PEAK offers a wide range of classes, including Hatha, Vinyasa, Iyengar, Power, and Restorative, and Yoga Therapy.
