In January of this year I was at the downtown Peak and saw the flyer for the Lose It At The Peak (LIATP) program that was beginning Jan. 26. I knew that this was the answer I had been looking for in all the years I wanted to lose weight. I signed up as soon as I could. What an adventure I was about to begin!
I stepped on the scale and faced my fear of how much I weighed for the first time in years. It was a shock, but determined to succeed, I began my weight loss journey. With the help of Denise, the nutritionist, and her knowledge of portion control, sugar contents in food, proteins, fats, etc. I was armed with what I needed to begin. Logging my food in My Fitness Pal was very important to my success also.
Then there were the strenuous workouts three nights a week with a personal trainer. Austin was our trainer for the program at the downtown Peak. I was in with a group of five other attendees. It was hard, but as the pounds came off, it was incentive to keep going. And I am still training with a group and personal trainer two nights a week. I have lost inches along with pounds and have toned up like I can hardly believe!
I needed help and guidance, and the LIATP program gave me that. I am down two sizes and healthier, bringing my cholesterol down also. Denise helped me realize that this is a life style change, and it is, actually, a life-changing program!
